Ventilation on demand by Halo is a solution that automatically regulates the airflow to meet the exact need at a given time, unlike old HVAC systems where the airflow is typically constant. Building owners can now automatically open or close smart vents needed, allowing the HVAC system to distribute air effectively. 

Halo VOD Technology can combine sensor data with information from outside data sources — like weather forecasts, air pollution — to enable control of a buildings HVAC energy use more effectively. Over time, our technology can learn more about your HVAC systems. They can use the information gathered daily to better predict system energy use and maintenance requirements. 

Our technologies can adjust variables like IAQ, temperature and humidity automatically, or users can directly manipulate these variables in accordance with their preferences or the preferences of building occupants.

How is vent on demand carried out ?

The first thing is to carry out a comprehensive site survey to analyse how the current system is operating to identify potential improvement. This allows for an energy saving feasibility report including ROI to be created detailing a full scope of works.

Halo VOD can uniquely adjust the exhaust airflow hood by hood in a fully independent way. If just one cooking range is operating, only the airflow for that hood concerned will be automatically adjusted. The other hoods will continue to operate at a low flow rate. 


It works the same way with the zones of a ventilated ceiling. This ability further reduces exhaust airflows. Halo VOD technology continually regulates the speed of the fans to obtain the required rate with minimal pressure. Power consumption is thus kept to the bare minimum.
